The side of the game that I rarely talk about is the mental side. You need to be bulletproof when it comes to your mind if you want to be successful.
You need to have conviction in what you are doing, your team, and who you are as a player. You need to see yourself as a great player, not the opposite. You should work how a great player works and act how a great player acts. Not arrogant. Confident. If you step onto that field and truly know you are prepared and ready for anything the opposing team is going to throw at you, you will be unbeatable. But your mindset can’t be anything other than that. If you are too worried or don’t think you are good enough, that’s how you will perform. Jitters and nerves are good things but if you are legit scared, that’s obviously going to reflect your play. You need to be bulletproof and have a mindset that you are unstoppable. You are what you think about. If you think you are inferior that is how you will play. If you think you are superior, you will perform superior. They say the game is 80% mental, but 100% of the time you need to have the right mindset. It’s not about putting on this show to prove to people you are confident when really you are insecure, it’s about truly having confidence in yourself and your abilities. You don’t have to talk about how great you are, you just have to show it with your actions and your mindset. Nobody who ever thought they couldn’t do it, has been successful. It all started from belief.
