The #1 best thing WRs can do for their hands is throw with a QB. Now some of you may not have access to a QB 24/7 365 days per year, but anytime you get the opportunity to throw with one you should be catching at least 100 passes. Also something you can do for your hands is reach out to a local QB coach. Take it from me, when I train my QBs we are always looking for WRs to catch. So offer to come out and catch for them. That will make their job easier and I’m 99% sure you won’t have to pay. You will catch easily 100 passes.
Now what can you do at home for your hands? I think the best thing for hand eye coordination is tennis ball work. Bounce tennis balls off the side of your house, a back wall, the garage etc. anything that helps you with tracking a smaller ball will translate to catching a football! You need to get creative and make it challenging.
Last but not least, WRs can strengthen their grip to improve their hands. So doing those grip squeeze exercises with those clips you can get will help and also doing exercises like finger tip push ups will help you tremendously! Grip strength helps you make tough catches and it makes it easier to catch harder bullet type throws. If you do all 3 of these things you will see a dramatic change in your hands. It is all about repetition.
