QB is the hardest position in all of sports. I don’t know how you can disagree with that. But once you start to pick up what it actually means to be a QB, the game starts to get easier for you.
You have to have that IT factor. Where you just walk into a room and guys know you are THE guy. You need to carry yourself with a confidence.QBs shouldn’t be afraid to make a mistake or to throw a pick. You need to be the toughest guy on the field at all times. QB is a very rewarding position but at the same time, it can be a very lonely position. You need to stick it out even in the bad times. Hell everyone would be a QB if it was all Touchdowns and getting girls, but 50% of the time it’s not like that at all. Throwing a game losing interception can make you feel like the loneliest person in the world. And that is normal. It comes with the territory, but if you don’t realize that, you will never be as successful as you could be.
Last thing I want to mention is pressure. Everyone says “Oh QB is too much pressure”. You have to love the pressure. If you don’t do well under pressure, play another position. This position is not for people who don’t like pressure. Pressure makes diamonds. As soon as you realize pressure is a product of your mind, you will thrive. Pressure is not a real thing. Obviously it is, but if your mindset is you can handle anything the game throws at you, you won’t feel it. Let everyone else build up this picture in their head. You just stay true to your preparation and you won’t feel a thing. Nerves, pressure, and anxiety are all products of your mind. You build those things up. If you can train your mind to be calm in the chaos, you will win.
