BEST Lifts For WRs

Below we will be discussing the best lifts for WRs to do in the gym! I hope this is able to help!


These lifts will be emphasizing mainly explosiveness & single leg stability. Which are essential to help WRs with speed & route running.




Upper Body

Bench Press (2 second pause at the bottom- explode up)


Push Jerk (Olympic lift) - it’s like a shoulder press but you explode the weight up and can slightly jump with your feet.


Pull Ups (great for grip strength to help with catching)





Lower Body


Pause Squats (good for explosion- 2 second pause at the bottom)


Heel Elevated Split Squat


Heel Elevated Goblet Squat


Barbell Front Squat


Power Cleans or Hang Cleans


Trap Bar Deadlifts
