BEST WR Speed Training Routine

There are a few things that WRs can do for speed but today we are going to solely focus on weight training. WRs should be doing explosive movements in the gym, resistance training, and also stretching! If you can combine those three things into your workouts you will be a much faster athlete


Speed Gym Workout


SPLIT 1


Jump Squats

5x6-8 reps


Superset With


Box Jumps

5x8-10 reps


1 minutes 30 seconds rest in between sets


SPLIT 2


Pause Squats (heavier weight; hold for a 3 second pause at bottom of the squat- helps with explosion)


5x5 reps


1 minute 30 seconds rest in between sets


SPLIT 3


Hang Cleans

5x5 reps


1 Arm DB Snatch

5x8 reps each side


2 minutes rest in between sets

WE WILL BE IN FLORIDA January 8th for our first ever QB/WR/DB training camp! It will be a 4 hour camp for athletes and we will emphasize the mechanics/details of each position, routes vs air to work on timing and game realistic techniques and a portion of the camp will be dedicated to 1on1s & 7on7.
