1)- High intensity lifting. That means decreasing the rest time, lighter weight & 12-15 reps. This puts you in a fat burning zone when you workout.
2)- Cardio after weights. This also helps with burning more fat. Especially if you are doing sprints after a workout. Even something simple like 10x40yd sprints.
3)- Calorie deficit. Eating less calories than what you burn. This is the key. You should invest in some type of calorie tracking tool, like a fit bit or Apple Watch that can track these things. Then it’s simple, figure out how many calories you’re consuming daily- you may have to cut back or you may be at a good spot. It should be 40% less than what you’re eating.
4)- This one is hard, but will help you drop weight fast- stop eating carbs. I know carbs are fuel for your workouts- but tons of people have seen tremendous weight loss using the “keto diet” which is essentially a no carb diet. I promise you will drop weight. You might feel your energy decrease at first, that’s totally normal. You have to continue eating. But your calories should come from fats & protein.
5)- Eat single ingredient foods & natural Whole Foods. If you don’t want to stop eating carbs, eating single ingredient foods & non processed foods can help you with energy levels for workouts and help you lose fat. Avoid fast food, processed sugar and foods with long ingredient labels like cereal or a bag of chips. Single ingredient foods are “eggs”, “chicken”, “rice” etc.
