Sharper Cuts
A common question that I get asked is, how can I make sharper, more explosive cuts? That’s a good question and I think this can all be viewed from a WR stand point but can benefit ANY football player.
When you make a cut it’s all about pad level and not reaching for it. Being real sudden and explosive with your feet. Don’t give anything away. When you are exploding off of a cut don’t lunge out. That’s not an explosive position. You want to be sudden with your feet and keep your stick inside your frame. Not outside. It all ties together because when you lunge out for a cut, you start to lean back and your pad level goes up. That makes you slower because the weight in your body is on your heels rather than the balls of your feet. Sharp cuts are directly tied into explosiveness. Keep your body in an explosive position and your cuts will be much sharper and much more explosive.
