)- Train with full pads this summer. One of the hardest things to get used to if you’re new to tackle football is the extra weight you’ll have to carry around. So do regular position training just with pads & a helmet on. You get a lot more comfortable with the extra weight before August.

)- Train contact in the summer. You don’t want your first hit ever to be when you’re at practice in front of coaches. I’m not saying get full on tackled, but train with a partner or a family member and have them give you light contact on drills.

)- Do neck strengthening exercises. You can google a bunch of these. When you play tackle the first time, your neck hurts pretty bad at first because you’re not used to the extra weight of the helmet. If you do neck workouts you will have an easier time  when you start practice.

)- Get your first hit out of the way when you start practicing. A lot of guys delay their first it, let other guys go in front of them during hitting drills etc.

Guys don’t do this. It’s really not going to be as bad as you think. Get the first hit out of the way so you can focus on developing your game at practice not worried about contact.
