3 Reasons WRs DONT GET OFFERS

The first reason WRs don’t get offers is that they will wait for an offer from a college. They figure that a school will just come to them and that they will see them one day and take a chance. The recruiting process is a very long one, don’t make the same mistake I did and get a late start. I wish I would’ve been emailing my tape to a million schools begging for a chance, but I sat back and waited. Granted it worked out for me, but I wish I could’ve avoided all of the stress. I was stressed all the way until signing day which is when I decided on attending a small D2 school in California. If I would’ve put in the effort to make a mid season highlight tape my junior year and then a full season highlight tape then repeated the process as a senior I could’ve had more choices for college and more opportunities. Don’t make that mistake, get started early even if you don’t have film. Email your film to coaches, attend camps and try to build relationships no matter what level of football the school is.

The second reason WRs don’t get offers is they do not know what to put up on their highlight tape. As a WR you need to be including big & explosive plays. Include plays where you get a lot of yards after the catch, include tough catches on there and great routes where you create a lot of separation. Also try to include some of your best blocks. A lot of guys just put routine plays on their tape. Guess what, a million other kids across the country can do that exact same thing. Make sure you are standing out.

Last but not least, WRs dont get offers because they are just simply not skilled in the right areas. They can’t run smooth routes, they can’t beat press, they don’t have great hands etc. Make sure you are training correctly and building habits that you can use at the next level. A lot of WRs do POINTLESS drill work that they will never use in a game or at the next level. Why are you practicing it if you never use it? Train correctly so your skills can show up on film. If you want a daily drill schedule for 4 weeks on all of the WR drills you need to be doing for route running, releases, hands, speed and explosiveness checkout this link below! ⬇️
