3 Tips To Be A Great WR

3 things you can do to be a better receiver is the following: 1) be a second QB on the field. That is the key if you guys want to get separation. It’s not just about knowing releases and moves at the route it’s about knowing WHEN to use those moves. Know when to use techniques and that’s how you become an intelligent receive. 2) knowing what a DB wants to do. Understanding a DBs leverage is so beneficial to a WR. If a DB is inside shade, knowing that he wants to take away the inside and force you to the sideline is highly beneficial for your releases that you decide to use. This knowledge can all be built through film study and watching the DBs you are playing during the week. 3) being an explosive receiver and having great balance allows you to execute all of these moves. We talk a lot about drills and the technique behind it but there is a cap to that. If you want to take your game to the next level WRs need to get in the gym and build their explosiveness and balance. This allows you to execute the moves on the field. The gym is where you build explosion and everything that ties into the receiver position.
