3 Ways To GET FASTER

Below we will be discussing 3 easy ways that you can get faster this off season. I hope this can help!

Also, if you are a WR and would like a daily training schedule to follow for 2 months with over 500+ different gym exercises & on field drills, checkout the link below! We map out the exact workouts you should be doing on a day to day basis for 8 weeks! ⬇️⬇️

So the first way you can get faster is by doing resistance training. Running with sleds, parachutes, up hills, up stadium bleachers etc. This is an old school way to develop speed but still very effective. You must emphasize having good form when doing this because your form is also essential for speed development. But form can only take you so far. If you have perfect form but that’s all you do, you will not get faster after a certain point.

The second way you can get faster is by doing explosive movements in the gym. So doing exercises like box jumps, power cleans, split jerk etc. Sprinting is an all out effort movement, what that means is that you exert all of your energy. So to train for speed, you need to do exercises that will develop that. This develops something called your “fast twitch muscle fibers”. Which is what directly translates to speed and explosiveness.

The last way to get faster is by stretching. A lot of people don’t think of stretching as a way to get faster but so many athletes have very tight hips, groins and hamstrings. Which can limit your stride length hence, limiting your speed. I would try to stretch 30 minutes every night before bed and 30 minutes when you wake up if you have the time. But AT LEAST 30 minutes a day, not only will your body feel better but you can get faster. And I think everyone wants that. If you need a good stretch routine either dm me on Instagram or leave a comment on my YouTube channel and I can send you one I use with all of my players.
