How To Beat Out The Coaches Son

Now, if you are in a situation where you are competing with a son of a coach or you feel there are some politics going on- you should read this article below. We get this question multiple times per day and this is the best advice we can give.

Also, in 2025 we are coming out to 15 more cities for QB/WR skill camps! We will be coming to SAN FRANCISCO CA, ORLANDO FL, PHOENIX AZ, CHARLOTTE NC, AUSTIN TX, CHICAGO IL, SEATTLE WA, LAS VEGAS NV, NEWARK NJ, BIRMINGHAM AL, HOUSTON TX, BOSTON MA, COLUMBUS OH, BOISE IDAHO & LOS ANGELES CA Checkout the link below to sign up ⬇️⬇️

1)- First thing is you have to be honest with yourself. Are you truly better? Are their truly politics going on? I don’t write this article to discredit the kids who play for their parents. Because honestly, 95% of the time they are the hardest working kids on the team and their parents are actually much harder on them. So you have to be honest with yourself. If you are truly better, know the playbook better- perform better etc. Then you can listen to point 2 & 3 in this article below. But if you’re not, you don’t deserve to play or start over them. The best players deserve to play. Plain and simple.

2)- Ok, so let’s say you are better… but they aren’t giving you a shot. And let’s say you are dead set on a position like QB for example. You don’t want to play anything else. You need to make the most of every opportunity that you get. You need to be perfect. And yes I said perfect. Nobody is perfect but you should hold yourself to that standard. You need to make it obvious in practice that you are the best at your position. Other coaches, other parents and even players should be applying pressure to the coach to make a switch and give you a chance. That is where I believe a real change can happen.

3)- Now, I know what some of you are thinking… point #2 above is super unlikely. The coach will never give you a chance…. then PLEASE get out of that situation. When it comes to football everyone has a clock that’s running out of time. If you’re a high school player- you have 4 years to make something happen to play in college. If you’re a youth athlete you have a few years to develop and then it gets real in high school. Youth athletes- your development can’t happen from the bench. Go where you are going to play. High school guys- you can’t get recruited without film. Transfer to a school where you will play. I’m usually not the biggest transfer advocate but if there is nothing you can do & you don’t see things changing- go put yourself in a better situation. Quit wasting your time. Nobody will ever blame you for that.
