)- Make an X account. X is where college coaches go for most of their recruiting because athletes are easy to interact with and all of their info is easily accessible. Plus the platform is free so they can get access to more players. You need to make a profile and have it look professional. You should have your name, graduating class, position and 1 marketable attribute about yourself (height & weight- only if it’s good etc.) Your profile picture should be football related and you should have your hudl highlights as the pinned tweet on the profile. If you don’t have varsity highlights that’s okay I still recommend making an account. Upload content if you training in the off season or doing football related things.

)- DM college coaches. The best intro DM to a college coach is asking them about camps they have coming up. You need to stand out. Don’t send them your entire life story with your film attached. They get hundreds of those messages a day. Send them a simple & short intro message. After they respond, then you can ask them to checkout your film or they might check it out anyways because it’s pinned on your profile. If you don’t have varsity tape- still send them this.

)- Attend the college camps. The goal is to do as well as you possibly can. Go to the camps with the mindset of building on the relationships you have with coaches in attendance or making new relationships with coaches. Ask them for their Twitter & shoot them a follow. Also DM coaches prior to the camp and say you are coming if you have already spoken to them. DM them after as just a simple thank you and that you hope to stay in touch.

)- After the first 5 games of next year’s season, send the college coaches you have interacted with your film.

)- After your season ends, send them your full season film.

This is generally how the process should go if you are an athlete who doesn’t have much exposure or your high school doesn’t get much recruiting attention. It is tedious but you have to stay consistent.
