Below we will be discussing THE BEST POSITIONS TO PLAY BASED ON BODY TYPE. I hope this is able to help!

Also, WE ARE COMING TO 15 STATES IN 2026 FOR QB/WR CAMPS! We are coming to San Francisco CA, Orlando FL, Phoenix AZ, Columbia SC, Seattle WA, Oklahoma City OK, Nashville TN, Milwaukee WI, Austin TX, Atlanta GA, Denver CO, Columbus OH, Boston MA, Salt Lake City UT, & Los Angeles CA. ⬇️SIGN UP HERE! ⬇️

We get asked this question by a lot of athletes so we wanted to write this to inform you of what coaches might be looking for at certain positions body type wise. These aren’t exact numbers but generalizations that can apply to athletes of all ages. I hope this can help!

QB- Body type is super important. You need the SKILLS to play QB. So if you can throw, you can play. Obviously QBs tend to be on the taller side. But there are plenty of examples of short QBs who have success. They all have good pocket mobility, a quick release and quick decision making.

WR- Generally the skinny/fast guys play receiver. If you’re short and skinny, I recommend slot receiver. Need speed to play out of the slot.

DB- Same size as receivers but you don’t have the best hands.

Safeties- Same height as DBs and WRs- but probably 10-15 pounds heavier.

RB- Same height as receivers- but probably 20LBs heavier. Bigger guys, on the shorter side, but still have good speed.

LB- About 2 inches taller than the RBs and WRs- and they are much heavier. Not as athletic as running backs. But around the same weight.

TE- Tallest guys on the team but more athletic and faster than linemen. Have good hands as well.

OL/DL- Tallest guys and the heaviest guys on the team. It’s okay if you’re not the tallest but definitely the heaviest

Also, we will be coming to 15 states this year for OL/DL/RB/LB/DB camps! We are only accepting 15 athletes per position group! These camps are invite only- if you would like to be invited, checkout the link below!
