This is a common question that we get asked and we feel that it can be different for every athlete. It all depends on your recovery and on your workouts. If you are going to the field with maybe 6 other receivers and you are only training for let’s say 1 hour, you will probably need to be doing field work for 5-6 days. It’s all about repetition and work load. Now if you are going to the field for 1.5-2 hours and you are the only one working and you are doing hard workout splits, maybe you should only do field work 3-4 days weekly. As a WR you need to be able to do the big 3 things. You need to do the work in the gym, you need to do the field work and you need to do the mental work. Studying coverages/defenses is something you can do everyday for many hours a day. Also something you can do everyday is working on your hands with solo tennis ball catching drills. Hand eye coordination work that doesn’t require a lot of movement can be done everyday. Your focus as a WR should be getting 1% better everyday but handling your schedule correctly while getting 1% better.
