Confidence is one of the most important traits athletes can have. But how do you get to that place of confidence? Confidence comes from your work ethic. You need to put in the hours in the off season so you can be prepared for the games you play in. Once you have done your work, you can start telling yourself the right things. Confidence comes from what you say to yourself, not what others say. But if you believe what others say it can negatively effect you. The only voice you should listen to is the voice in your head telling you positive things. You have done the work so you are ready. But the two go hand in hand. You can’t do all the work and then have poor self talk. That will kill you. And you can’t do no work and have great self talk and expect to play well. That’s what we call arrogance. Work ethic and positive self talk will change your confidence levels dramatically.
