How you can run a better rocker step is by doing the following: selling with your upper body and keeping the weight on the inside arch of your foot when you make the move. Most people will do the rocker step but they have a stiff upper body and stiff hips. The problem with that is that you won’t be able to get a DB or safety to bite if you don’t move your hips. A disciplined DB that is. Make sure your hips are throwing and that your upper body turns. Now the mistake people make when they do that brings me to my second point, don’t open up your toes. Try to keep your toes pointed straight forward or just slightly turned to the outside. This will help you keep the weight of your body on the inside arch of your foot. That is where you are the most explosive and can drive the most.
