The stride length is one of the most important aspects of the QB position. All the great QBs have a great, quick front stride and it makes your release quicker/gives you more pop on the ball. How you can achieve this is by widening out your base and pushing off your back leg. A lot of people think a wide base is bad because you don’t have any power, not true. When your feet are closer together you’re not pushing off your back leg, you’re just opening your front foot which causes no power or velocity, and if you do push you have an over stride which causes so many inconsistencies in your release point/control. If you widen out and push off the inside arch like a pitcher of your back leg your front foot will already be there to catch you.
