How To Get An OFFER AT A COLLEGE CAMP

Grant Caraway

Today we will be discussing how you can get an offer at a college camp! I hope this is able to help you out in your recruiting process and expose the truth about college camps.

Also, in 2024 we are coming out to 10 more cities for QB/WR skill camps! We will be coming to Dallas TX(SOLD OUT) Nashville TN(SOLD OUT) Chicago IL(SOLD OUT) Buffalo NY, Atlanta GA, Houston TX, Philadelphia PA(SOLD OUT), Detroit MI, Boise ID & Los Angeles CA! So if you attend a camp unnoticed, never talked to a coach from their staff before, never met a coach on the schools staff before… it is very very unlikely you will receive any attention and especially an offer at the camp. The harsh reality of college camps is that the coaches at these big single school camps already know their guys ahead of time that they will watch. Guys, you have to understand that college recruiting starts in JANUARY. Coaches fly all over the country to scout talent. College camps are in JUNE & JULY. So for 6-7 months colleges have already been actively recruiting players. They will not start recruiting a new player in June, unless you are an insane talent. I’m talking a 4.5 and below 40 and just making crazy plays. But if they don’t know you, they most likely won’t look at you during the camp. I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve gone to these camps and I always found myself sitting there wondering, “damn how does that player already know that coach?” And that’s because he’s already getting recruited by them. So I write this to save you time and in some cases money. You want to go to college camps where you actually have a relationship/know a coach. And a relationship can be a simple Twitter relationship where he has seen your film and you have been communicating. Go where you are known. This will increase your chances of actually getting any real recruiting attention from college camps and potentially a scholarship. A scholarship is hard to earn but it’s much easier if the coaches know who/what to look for. Make sure you let the coaches know you will be coming prior to the camp as well.

Now, if you’re a player who hasn’t spoken to any coaches before and just want to get started in the process- I recommend something called “mega” camps. That’s where multiple college staffs will be in attendance. Don’t go to “get recruited”. Go to meet people and build connections through Twitter. Then you follow the steps we mentioned above.
