Ideal 40 TIME For WRs

This is a common question we get asked and we would like to address this issue here. PLEASE DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN HAVING A SPECIFIC 40 TIME. Game film over attributes. I would say as a WR a good place to shoot for is under a 4.7 The 40yd dash is so technical. A big result of your time is the start. So you could be the fastest guy on the field, have a crappy start and clock in slower than someone who you would be faster than when the pads are on. A college coach will never say “we are looking for a guy who is a sub 4.6 40”. They care about how fast you look on game tape and in person. People get so worried about the 40 like it matters a ton, it only matters at the NFL combine. But in the high school and college world it doesn’t matter. They care about what you can do on tape. Now don’t get me wrong, it certainly helps to run a 4.4 40 but don’t stress out if you’re not at that place yet. You can develop speed but a self reported 40 time that you put in your Twitter bio will not make or break you. In the off season you should be concerned with building your speed, explosives and power. Those will all translate over to a 40 time but be more concerned with being fast in pads rather than a t-shirt and shorts. If you would like to get faster and more explosive, checkout the link below for a 3 month workout plan specifically made for WRs to improve their speed, explosion, stability, balance and power! ⬇️⬇️
