The key elements of a great release are the following, you need to have sudden feet and be violent with your upper half. A DB will not be looking at your feet so you do not need to reach way outside of your frame but you don’t want to be super close with your feet. Step just outside of his frame. Now A DB will be watching your hips and number, so that is what you want to turn. If you can turn your hips and number to whichever side opposite of where you are going, you are more likely to get the DB off his platform. In the case of an out-in release or in-out release etc. If you can get him off platform with your upper half and maintain a strong base with your lower half so you can drive off the line, that is a great way to create separation.
