So anytime I post anything about a 40yd dash- the post gets flooded with comments from people claiming they run this & that 40 time. I’d assume most people are telling the truth but then sometimes there are things that I hear that are flat out insane. Like a 7th grader claiming he runs a 4.6 or something like that.
Reason I wanted to write this article is to let you know that talk is cheap. The 40yd dash is something that can matter from a recruiting perspective. If you go to a college camp or a combine and you run a really great time- you can go from unknown to known pretty fast. However, if you’re going to post your 40 time on social media claiming you run a good time- nobody will believe it if there is no video evidence. If you want to stand out to college coaches videos of anything that you do is the best way to do it. If you have a really good squat max or power clean max… coaches want to see a video because they are aware that athletes will lie to stand out. Always be truthful and include video evidence and this will help your recruiting a lot more than you think.
