Average 40 Time For D1 Players Based On Position

Today we will be discussing the average 40 time for a college football player based on their position. This is a common question we get asked so I hope this is able to help!

Also, if you are a football player who needs to get faster and would like a weekly workout schedule with different speed workouts you can do, checkout the link below! ⬇️⬇️

QBs- 4.7 (only if you’re a dual threat) (if you are a pocket passer I wouldn’t worry too much about your 40 time. Worry about being a great QB)

WRs/DBs- 4.6 or below (you need speed at these positions- you will be matched up against freak athletes at the next level on either side of the ball)

RB- 4.7 or below (can be a little slower than WRs but it should be generally the same- RBs just carry more weight)

LB- 4.9 or below

O-Line- (wouldn’t worry about it)

D-Line- 4.9 or below (if you can run a 4.7 as a D-Lineman you are a legitimate prospect)

TE- 4.8 (TEs are very scary people. They are tall, big & fast at the D1 level)
