We get this question a lot, so we decided to write an article about it. This is not meant to discourage anybody. Your 40 time isn’t as important as you think. It’s just a good gauge of where your speed should be when entering high school. As a freshman, you have a lot of time left to develop your 40.


QBs- 5.0-5.5 or below (dual threat is 5.0 and pocket passer is 5.5)



WRs/DBs-4.9 or below 



RB- 4.9 or below



LBs- 5.3 or below 



TEs/D-Line- 5.5 or below



O-Line- I wouldn’t worry at all about your 40 time. But I would day anything under a 5.8 is moving pretty good.
