Average MAX LIFTS For D1 WRs

Below we will be discussing the average max lifts on bench press, squat, power clean & deadlift for WRs. Your max numbers aren’t the most important thing in the world either. And that’s the main focus of todays article. I hope this can help you out.

So, determining the average of something like lifting varies a lot with your weight. If you are a 300lb linemen and can squat 365lbs as your max… That’s not that impressive. But if you’re a 175lb WR who can squat 365… that’s impressive. So you need to make sure that factors in to your thought process of lifting. It’s not about the amount of weight- it’s about pound for pound strength. Also, before we get into the averages, a college coach does not care about a self reported stat. Anybody can put “Squat: 300lbs” in their Twitter bio. Literally anybody can. They want to either see it in person or see a video of it. Self reported stats mean absolutely nothing in the college football world. Now, on to the averages. 



Bench: 175-250lbs for WRs


Squat: 275-365lbs for WRs


Deadlift: 275-365lbs for WRs


Power Clean: 185-275lbs for WRs



Don’t worry if you aren’t hitting these numbers yet. This is purely my opinion based off of what I have seen through many years of playing football and coaching football. College coaches want athletes- not bodybuilders or power lifters.
