Managing school work with your athletics can be very hard, especially this time of year but the best way to go about it is time management. We have all been there when a paper is due the next day and you have waited until the last possible minute to do it. It sucks, it’s stressful and it takes a lot of focus. You want to be able to have a great balance of your mindset towards school and football. School comes first, take care of that and then your mind can be all on football. I would set aside a day each week where you do some kind of class work for 1 hour a day. That’s not a long time at all. Taking 1 hour out of the 24 to do school work so you are caught up is huge. It doesn’t have to be a lot either, 10 minutes for 5 subjects and then 10 extra studying. That’s a full hour. When you get to college you will understand how important time management is and taking care of your business. If you don’t have the grades you won’t play. So time management is the best way to be a true student athlete.
