WR CATCHING WORKOUT- NO QB IS NEEDED

A common question we get asked is, “coach I need to get better hands but I don’t have a QB to throw to me”. So we wanted to make a workout that WRs can do to improve their hands without a QB. The key areas to improve are hand eye coordination and grip strength and this can easily help with that!

SPLIT 1


Eyes Closed Tennis Ball Catches (50 reps on each hand)


(Stand facing a wall with your eyes closed- throw a tennis ball off the wall, when you hear it make contact with the wall, open your eyes and catch the ball one handed)



SPLIT 2

Overhead Tennis Ball Catches (50 reps on each hand)



(Stand with your back against a wall- if the wall is too short for this kneel down and perform this on your knees. Toss the tennis ball over the top of your head off the wall, but keep your eyes forward. When you hear it make contact with the wall, look up & find the ball/catch it 1 handed)




SPLIT 3

Finger Tip Push Ups (3x10-12 reps)


Superset with


Dumbbell Farmers Carry (3x30yds)


(Holding two heavy dumbbells and you just walk)
